Q: What causes vinyl to crack?

A: Vinyl, by nature, is a stiff product that is made soft and pliable by the addition of plasticizers. These plasticizers can migrate out of the vinyl due to a number of factors. If the vinyl does not have sufficient UV inhibitors, then harsh sunlight can rapidly dry out the plasticizers and cause the vinyl to crack. Quality vinyl is specially designed to cope with climate conditions, and many of them are actually used in the manufacture of boat cushions. Even so, it is best not to expose vinyl to prolonged sunlight.

The other main factor causing vinyl to crack is the lack of attention to cleaning the vinyl after use. Body oils, perspiration, and massage oil residues will all draw the plasticizers out of the vinyl if they are allowed to dry on it.

Q: Will your Jelly Bean Arms fit my chair from another manufacturer?

A: Possibly, but not necessarily, some manufacturers use a different mount style. Call us first.


Q: I’m really tall, and I cannot find a chair to fit me.
Can you make my seat longer?

A: Yes, we manufacture our chairs, so we can customize it
for you at any stage.


Q: My Physio is recommending an ergonomic chair and other ergonomic solutions. Where can I source other ergonomic products?

A: We have a complete line of ergonomic solutions, from flat panel monitor mounts, to mouse products designed specifically for your hand size.


Q: Do you only manufacture ergonomic chairs?

A: No, Chairs Limited manufacturers all styles of chairs, including metal or wooden guest chairs, recliners, love seats, chesterfields, industrial, healthcare and institutional type furniture.


Q: Do you have a Quality Control System?

A: Yes, we are ISO 9001:2000 Compliant, and very proud of it.


Q: Do you deliver?

A: Yes, we have our own delvery service, and we ship via courier as well, to get your chair delivered as quickly as possible.


Q: How do you ship your products?

A: Within Metro Halifax, we ship with our own truck & driver. Outside of Metro, we utilize courier services from Sameday and Purolator. If you have preferred rates with your own shipping company, it may cost you less for shipping to use your own rates.


Q: How long before my chair ships?

A: Since we manufacture each chair by hand, it depends on our current orders, but generally our leadtimes are between 2-3 weeks.


Q: Can I pay with Credit Cards?

A: Yes, we accept Visa & Mastercard for your convenience.


Q: My chair will not stay at the height I set. Do I need a new chair?

A: No, likely, the gas lift has developed a leak, and is slowly losing pressure. Call us to schedule a service call.


Q: What's the difference between a 101 and a 201 Whale Series chair?

A: The 101 mechanism will lock in any reclined position. The 201 mechanism will only lock in the full upright position.


Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: We are open 8:30am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
